Women Rehabilitation and Development Association (WORDA) successfully conducted a Female Youth Peer Forum on critical issues that perpetuate Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) practices in Somaliland.

The forum took place on 02 October 2025 at the Imperial Hotel, Hargeisa, and brought together 40 young women from diverse backgrounds, including students, community activists, and youth representatives.

The aim of the event was to create a safe platform for female youth to openly discuss the social, cultural, and religious factors that continue to sustain FGM/C practices in Somaliland. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, group reflections, and experience sharing sessions focused on developing strategies to advocate for behavioral change and the abandonment of FGM/C.
